The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Yesterday we went to Universal Studios to visit the Harry Potter exhibit. We had to get there at 8:30am to avoid the huge line ups. The line was still 30 minutes long, but it was much worse later on in the day. We had a good time. The whole exhibit was a really good recreation of Hogwarts and Homgsmeade. We rode on the main ride in Hogwarts castle. We got to tour through all of the classrooms and reached the ride at the end of the tour. I found it kind of scary. The car gets tossed around in front of an Imax screen to simulate broom flight. I got motion sick so I kept my eyes closed during the broom part. Then you get yanked around through parts of the castle in between.
We enjoyed the flight of the Hippogriff. It was a basic rollercoaster. It didn't go upside down so I liked that part. There was also a big roller coaster called the Dragon Challenge, but we didn't go on that (I don't like upside down roller coasters.) We shopped in Honeydukes Sweet Shop and looked at the wands for sale.
Finally we had lunch in The Three Broomsticks, where we got to sample butterbeer.
Because Harry Potter is so popular, Universal Studios was very busy. Curtis and I went to bed early last night because we had a long day.

Typhoon Lagoon

Two days ago we went to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park. The weather is beautiful in Florida so it was a great time to go to the waterslides. They have about the biggest wavepool that I have ever seen. Going around the edge of the pool is a lazy river. We got some innertubes and rode around it. It took us about 30 minutes or so.

I swam in Shark Reef. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I did get to use a snorkel and swim with sharks. However, the pool was quite deep and I was only allowed to float on the surface and watch the fish and sharks underwater. Understandable, the sealife stayed at the deeper part of the pool. I took some picture with my disposable underwater camera. It didn't have a zoom though so I will have to see how the pictures turned out.

Curtis and I had a great time and enjoyed ourselves.
